According to rapid statistics, in 2023, the container throughput of Shanghai Port exceeded the 49 million TEU (TEU) mark, ranking first in the world for the 14th consecutive year.

At present, the container routes of Shanghai Port cover more than 700 ports in more than 200 countries and regions around the world, with more than 320 weekly liners entering and leaving, all kinds of shipping elements are highly concentrated, and the level of shipping services continues to improve. In line with the new development trend of green, low-carbon and intelligent shipping industry, Shanghai Port accelerated the implementation of new business formats such as green fuel refueling services, promoted the iterative upgrading of smart terminal construction, and continued to lead the global trend of green smart terminals.

    In the past six years of operation, Yangshan Phase IV Automated Terminal, the largest single terminal in the world, has insisted on optimization while producing, and has become the most intelligent automated container terminal in the world, with annual throughput and operational efficiency at the leading level.

    As an upgraded version of Yangshan Phase 4, at the end of 2023, the first phase of the transformation of Luojing Port Container Terminal of SIPG Group, one of the major projects in Shanghai, will be completed, which will open new space for the high-quality development of Shanghai Port and future container volume growth.

    In the New Year, SIPG will further upgrade and transform Luojing Port Area, achieve a higher level of autonomy and control of the smart terminal, and strive to improve operational efficiency, making it the second "super large, intelligent and ecological" container port after Yangshan Phase 4, supporting the stable and healthy development of Shanghai International container hub Port, and promoting the Shanghai International shipping center to "fully completed".
