China's large cruise ship construction officially opened the "2.0" era.

    According to the plan, the domestic large cruise ship 2 will be docked in mid-April 2024 to start continuous loading, realize the first floating in early May 2025, leave the dock at the end of March 2026, start the trial in June that year, and name the delivery before the end of 2026.

    At present, the ship's detailed design drawing, production design modeling and model balance work has been basically completed, is focusing on the background model, outfitting installation sequence (DOP), kitchen and laundry room flue and other special balance, and to carry out key area model review, it is planned to achieve the basic solidification of the technical state of the whole ship in May this year.

    The domestic large cruise ship No. 2 has carried out a series of optimizations on the basis of the first ship of the same type. The ship has a gross tonnage of about 142,000 tons, a total length of 341 meters, a width of 37.2 meters, a design draft of 8.17 meters, a maximum draft of 8.4 meters, a maximum speed of 22.7 knots, and 2,144 guest rooms. Compared with the first ship, the gross tonnage of the second large cruise ship has increased by 0.67 million tons, the total length has increased by 17.4 meters, and the number of rooms has increased by 19. At the same time, in accordance with the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS)2020 rupture stability requirements and the International Maritime Organization (IMO)Tier III standards and Ship Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) Phase II requirements, two additional desulfurization towers and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems were added; It is also equipped with a huge superstructure living and entertainment area of up to 16 floors, which can meet the more abundant life and entertainment needs of passengers.

    Due to the larger size of ship No. 2, more construction is produced than the first ship. According to Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding's plan, the target total construction time of Ship 2 will be reduced by 20% compared with the first large cruise ship "Aida Modu". On February 26 this year, the ship's outfitting project has been officially started. The outfitting engineering of a large cruise ship is a complex project covering the whole ship's equipment, piping, electrical, iron outfitting, cold air conditioning and commissioning, and is the basis for safeguarding the whole ship's navigation and various operational entertainment functions.

    Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding outfitting team will focus on the key nodes such as the docking of ship 2, the completion of the whole ship, and the naming and delivery of the ship, and strive to improve management innovation, process optimization and technical breakthrough capabilities, and strive to achieve a new leap in the construction of China's large cruise ships.
