    The 129th Council of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) has announced the 2023 Special Bravery at Sea Awards. The crew of "Zhelonggang Yu 05668", a social rescue force recommended by Wenzhou Maritime Search and Rescue Center, won the "Special Bravery Award at Sea".

    The Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea was established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to provide international recognition to those who have risked their lives, acted heroically at sea to save lives, prevent damage or show exceptional courage. The award to the crew of "Zhejiang Longgang Yu 05668" is the recognition and encouragement of the International Maritime Organization for China's maritime social emergency search and rescue force.

    On October 14, 2022, the Zhejiang Taizhou fishing vessel "Zheling Yuyun 30058" was on its way back to Wenling, Taizhou from the East China Sea, when the fire broke out in the east Sea of Wenzhou Beiji Island. At the time of the accident, the wind gust was 9, and the fire spread rapidly, and the lives of the crew were seriously threatened. The situation was extremely critical.

    In the face of smoke and fire, the ship "Zhelong Port Yu 05668" constantly adjusted its course and tried to approach the ship in distress, and took advantage of the short proximity opportunity of the two ships to successfully and safely rescue 12 crew members in distress.
