On March 19, Guangzhou Nansha Marine Department, Nansha District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, and Nansha District Longjiu Sub-district Office held a tripartite signing ceremony to jointly build the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Nansha) crew rights and interests protection service station, which marked the official establishment of the first crew rights and interests protection service station in Guangdong, helping to resolve disputes and further optimize and improve the development environment of Nansha shipping.

    Nansha Port Area as Nansha Free Trade Zone and the gateway of Guangzhou international shipping hub, the annual entry and exit of ships up to 300,000 times, the entry and exit of crew up to 3 million people. "We always put the protection of the rights and interests of the crew in mind and put it into action," Fang Haibo, director of Guangzhou Nansha Marine Department, said, "We opened the 'crew medical line' has successfully rescued more than 170 sick and injured crew members, but also led the construction of Guangzhou Port's first 'happy crew cabin' on Longxue Island, so that the crew can set foot on the dock to 'home', and set up the country's first female maritime labor inspection team, to effectively do practical things for crew friends and solve problems."

    The reporter was informed that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Nansha) Seafarers' rights and interests protection Service Station (hereinafter referred to as the "Service station") will be based on the work of seafarers' labor dispute mediation, seafarers' rights and interests protection education, maritime labor conditions inspection and other work, and cooperate to promote the standardization of seafarers' labor contracts and employment agreements, so as to provide fairer, more convenient, more efficient and low-cost services for resolving seafarers' rights and interests protection disputes. We will vigorously safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of seafarers and shipowners, foster a harmonious and stable shipping order and environment, and promote the development of the Nansha Free Trade Zone and the maritime economy of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

    It is understood that the service station will be jointly operated by Guangzhou Nansha Marine Department, Nansha District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Nansha District Longxue Sub-district Office, the three parties will give full play to their respective professional advantages in crew management, labor security, mediation and arbitration, in line with the purpose of "resource sharing, complementary advantages, service crew, dedication to society", to build an opportunity. We will give full play to the role of service stations for the protection of seafarers' rights and interests, and integrate and complement the grassroots labor dispute management system.

    At present, the crew labor dispute mediation work of the service station is only applicable to shipping companies and crew members registered in Nansha, Guangdong Province, and will provide targeted services for 33 shipping companies registered in Nansha District and more than 7,000 crew members.
