On April 9, the 13,000TEU liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel powered large container ship series 3 ship "CMA CGM PARATY", known as the world's latest clean energy "green Giant", was named and delivered at CSSC Changxing Shipbuilding Base. This marks that the east coast of South America will add a new large dual-fuel powered container ship made by China.

    "CMA CGM PARATY" was designed by the 708 Research Institute of China State Shipbuilding Group, with a total length of 336 meters, a width of 51 meters, a depth of 26.8 meters, a designed service speed of 21 knots, and a maximum load capacity of 13,200 TEUs.

    The ship adopts the LNG dual-fuel power system, is equipped with a 14,000 cubic meter Mark III liquid cargo enclosure system of LNG liquid cargo tank, is equipped with the world's advanced CMD-WinGD9X9DF-2.0 main engine, and is equipped with the world's new generation of intelligent control exhaust gas recirculation (ICER) system. It can reduce the methane escape rate in gas mode by 50% and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 28%.

    The ship was built by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., LTD., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and China State Shipbuilding Trading Co., LTD., for CMA CGM of France. The former, as an innovative leader in the field of large and very large container ship construction in China, built and delivered the world's first 23,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel powered container ship in 2020. It has achieved a historic leap from "Made in China" to "created in China".

    Up to now, HUDong Zhonghua has delivered more than 70 large super large container ships. It is reported that the world's first largest LNG-powered 24,000 TEU container ship is under construction and is scheduled to be completed and delivered in 2025.
