    The successfully tested W6X72DF-2.2+iCER host weighs 550 tons, has a maximum sustained power of 21,200 horsepower, and is equipped with iCER low-pressure exhaust gas cycle technology for the first time, with an exhaust gas cycle rate of up to 50%, which is more green and efficient than traditional models. The main engine not only has the dual fuel free switching function, but also has the energy saving and low emission mode under two different fuels, and can operate in a total of 5 modes, which can effectively adapt to the transportation needs of the shipping market in different sea conditions.

    According to Ye Dan, deputy general manager of Qingdao Manufacturing Division of China Shipbuilding Engine, as the world's first model, W6X72DF-2.2+iCER is an ocean-going host developed for the current green and efficient needs of the Marine transportation industry, especially for large LNG transport ships. At the same time, as a new generation of 72DF host, the weight and volume of the host are reduced to varying degrees, which is an important force to promote the green and low-carbon development of ships. The successful delivery of the engine not only enriched the company's engine product spectrum, but also opened the road to the manufacture of new green hosts.

    The main engine will be installed on a 175,000 DWT LNG CARRIER built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group Co LTD for CMES LNG CARRIER. Whether in fuel or gas mode, the engine can meet TierIII emission requirements, and its combustion performance, emission performance, and fuel consumption are further optimized. In addition, the host has a strong market competitive advantage in engine energy consumption, system integration and system security.

    Constantly break through the "stuck neck" problem

    "Ammonia is a clean and low-carbon alternative fuel that has broad application prospects in the field of ship power. Combined with emission post-treatment technology, ammonia fuel engines can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 95 percent, nitrogen oxide emissions by 85 percent, sulfur oxide emissions by nearly 100 percent, and extremely low particulate matter emissions compared to conventional fuels." According to the relevant person in charge of CSSC engine, the company has actively developed a new low-carbon and environmentally friendly Marine engine fueled by methanol and ammonia through collaborative innovation in recent years, among which, the ammonia fuel engine will use cylinder high pressure direct injection technology, the use of diesel ignition technology to solve the problem of high spontaneous combustion temperature ignition difficulties. The first ammonia-fueled engine developed by CSSC is expected to be delivered in 2025.
