China's first Jianghai all-area, winter and summer LNG transport refueling ship was successfully delivered
China's first Jianghai all-area, winter and summer LNG(liquefied natural gas) transport refueling vessel, "Offshore Oil 302" was successfully delivered in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, CNOOC announced on the 28th. The ship will provide flexible refueling services for LNG vessels in China's river and sea areas with its performance advantages of "direct river and sea" and "ice navigation".
"Haiyang Petroleum 302" is the first LNG transport refueling ship in China to pass the classification construction inspection of China Classification Society, with a total length of 132.9 meters, a width of 22 meters, a depth of 11.8 meters, a design draft of 5.8 meters, and a unit capacity of 6,000 cubic meters. The ship has the advantages of meeting the requirements of the ocean unlimited navigation area and being navigable in the extreme low-water channel of the Yangtze River.
Huang Guoliang, deputy chief engineer of oil Service branch of CNOOC Energy Development Co., LTD., introduced that the "Offshore Oil 302" adopts the "collapsible mast" design, which can make the mast fold through hydraulic pressure to reduce the overall height of the ship, and has the ability to safely enter the Yangtze River through the Yangtze River bridge, truly breaking the "river and sea boundary". It has become the first LNG transport refueling ship in China that can enter the main section of the Yangtze River, and realize the one-stop LNG refueling transportation from the river to the sea.
At the same time, in order to break through the seasonal restrictions, the ship has considered the application scenario of ice navigation since the beginning of design and development, strengthening the design of the hull structure, the outer plate of the ice belt and the bow column have been thickened, so that it can sail in the floating ice sea other than large pieces of fixed ice (such as the winter coast of northern China), and further expand the scope of operation.
The ship is also equipped with a new pull-propeller full rotary propeller, which is about 0.25 knots/hour faster than a conventional push propeller for the same propulsion motor power, and reduces fuel consumption by 1.18 tons/day, which is excellent in terms of environmental protection and economic efficiency.
In recent years, CNOOC has accelerated the construction of the "international + domestic" dual-system ship LNG bunkering network, and continued to optimize the layout of China's LNG bunkering industry. Since 2022, CNOOC has implemented the refueling function transformation of the original LNG carrier "Offshore Oil 301", and the ship has been continuously operating in the Pearl River Delta region for more than 500 days, and has completed multiple refueling services for international ships such as France CMA CGM and Meisen Onor, with a refueling volume of more than 60,000 cubic meters.
In order to continue to promote the development of the LNG bunkering industry, its sister ship "Haiyang Petroleum 302" will perform transport bunkering tasks in areas such as the Bohai Sea Rim after delivery, and its special performance and professional bunkering capabilities will release more operational service possibilities.
