Red May! Waigaoqiao construction within a day, one ship delivered three ships to start
On May 7, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., LTD., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, achieved four nodes such as delivery of one ship and commencement of three ships in one day, fully opening the climax of Red May production, and moving toward the goal of completing more than half of the task in half of the time.
Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding delivered the 7,000 TEU medium container ship Series 5 vessel "Yong An" built for Seaspan Canada, which is the 11th ship completed and delivered by the company since 2024, with an average delivery of 11.6 days, which is 50% of the annual plan. At the same time, the three new vessels included an 8,600-car liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel powered large automobile carrier (PCTC) and two 114,000 ton Avra type oil product tankers. According to reports, at present, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding is under construction at the same time nearly 30 ships, products involving large cruise liners, large PCTC, very large offshore floating production and storage units (FPSO), as well as Afra type oil products vessels, large dual-fuel bulk carriers and medium-sized container ships. In the dock docks, final assembly platforms and processing workshops, there is a tense and orderly busy scene.
Developed and designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute of China Shipbuilding, Yongan has a total length of 272 meters, a width of 42.8 meters, a depth of 24.6 meters, a design draft of 15 meters, a design speed of 21 knots, and is classified into DNV classification Society. Its hull line has been comprehensively optimized by multiple rounds according to the owner's operating characteristics. Combined with low-energy main engine, high-efficiency propeller, full-suspension twisted rudder, energy-saving conduit, and bow energy-saving windscreen, it greatly optimizes fuel consumption performance, meets the requirements of the third stage energy efficiency design index and NOx Tier III emission standards, and is equipped with a hybrid desulfurization device, which is a green and environmentally friendly container ship.
In the construction process of "Yongan", Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding constantly summarized and improved the construction process and construction method of the series of ships, continued to improve the construction quality and efficiency, and achieved a new record of 46 days after the trial of the series of ships, especially the completion of all the engineering department's docking test 100% inspection work before the trial, once again in a perfect "delivery state" sea trial.
The 8600 vehicle PCTC, which started construction on the same day, is the third ship built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for CITIC Financial Leasing Company. It is developed and designed by Shiyuan, with a total length of 199.9 meters, a width of 38 meters, a depth of 14.8 meters, a design draft of 9.2 meters, and a design speed of 19 knots. It is classified into DNV Classification Society and China Classification Society (CCS). The ship is equipped with 14 layers of vehicle deck, each deck of the net height, ramp, pillar, the design of the side door, as well as ventilation, fire, lashing, monitoring and other equipment are fully optimized, so that the ship can efficiently load and unload cars, trucks, buses, trucks, trailers, including a variety of new energy vehicles. And suitable for all kinds of super high, overweight ro-ro cargo, a variety of packaging dangerous goods and containers.
For the first new ship type, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding draws on the construction experience of large cruise ships, focuses on the difficulties of sheet metal processing, further optimizes the operation process, adopts new technologies such as steel plate leveling, laser cutting, T-beam assembly line production, laser composite welding, welding robots, etc. As well as the "new six no" operation method without horse foot, no ignition plate, no support, no excessive grinding, no additional force input, no excessive fire work, has achieved twice the result with half the effort. Recently, the first batch of light deck segments of the ship type was completed in the sheet workshop and passed the acceptance at one time, setting a new benchmark for sheet construction.
The 114,000 ton Afra type oil product tanker is Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding's flagship product, with a leading market share. The two ships under construction are the fourth for Thenamaris and the second for Union Maritime Limited(UML). The ship is designed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, with a total length of 249.95 meters, a width of 44.0 meters, a depth of 21.2 meters, a design draft of 13.5 meters, a design speed of 14.5 knots, and is classified by Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR).
