The world's first fifth-generation large LNG carrier was delivered in Shanghai, designed and built by Hudong Zhonghua
This morning, the world's first fifth-generation "Changheng series" 174,000 cubic meters of large transport ship "Green Energy Ying", independently developed and designed by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., LTD., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, was named and delivered in Hudong Zhonghua Changxing Island factory five months ahead of the contract period. This "Marine super refrigerating truck", which is innovatively developed by China and represents the highest technical level in the field of large LNG carriers in the world today, has changed from construction drawings to real scenes.
"Green Energy Ying" total length of 299 meters, 46.4 meters wide, 26.25 meters deep, classified into the American Classification society and China Classification Society, using the installation of the latest intelligent control exhaust gas recirculation system technology of Chinese ship WinGD 5X72DF2.1 dual-fuel main engine, It is the first ship of China's largest LNG carrier construction project so far - "CNOOC Long-Term FOB Resources Supporting LNG carrier Project", which is of great significance for ensuring China's energy transportation safety and effectively improving the autonomous and controllable ability of China's LNG transport industry chain.
The "Changheng Series" ship type has four significant highlights. Fast performance is good, comprehensive energy consumption is low, compared with the previous generation of ships, single-day voyage carbon emissions reduced by more than 10 tons; Good low temperature performance, wide compatibility of tank types, can reach 120 LNG shore stations on all continents; The empty ship is light in weight and strong in cargo carrying capacity. Compared with the previous generation of ships, the weight of the whole ship is reduced by more than 1,500 tons, and each voyage is loaded with 800 cubic meters more LNG. Skillful operation and maintenance, good route matching, can efficiently adapt to various operational requirements of diversified routes.
It is understood that the "CNOOC long-term FOB resources supporting LNG carrier project" is divided into one and two phases, and a total of 12 174,000 cubic meters of LNG vessels are built. If fully operational, it will bring back about 7 million tons of LNG per year from around the world, enough to supply 54 million homes for nearly a year.
For a long time, China's LNG imports are mainly delivered to the shore by the seller, and the transportation rights are controlled by large international resources suppliers. Compared with Europe, Japan and South Korea and other importing countries, China's LNG transportation autonomy is relatively weak. The innovative trade form of CNOOC's long-term FOB (Free on board) will provide more operational convenience for cargo shipping and international trade, and greatly enhance the trade flexibility of resource importers. Cnooc is accelerating the business development of the whole LNG industry chain, enhancing the capacity of natural gas production, storage and marketing, and building a diversified low-carbon energy supply system. Through the FOB I and II projects, we will strive to build a safe, flexible, green and low-cost LNG transport boutique fleet with Chinese characteristics, further enhance China's ability to control the whole chain and the whole cycle of LNG transport, and make greater contributions to ensuring national energy security.
In December 2021, the "Changhengseries" ship type obtained the General Recognition of Ship type Design (GDA), Pre-Classification Recognition (PCA) and other certificates issued by four famous international classification societies, such as American Classification Society (ABS), French Classification Society (BV), Lloyd's Register of Shipping (LR), Norwegian Classification Society (DNV), etc., and successfully obtained the pass of real ship construction. It attracted global attention and orders poured in. Up to now, Hudong Zhonghua has undertaken a total of 34 ships, becoming the market's hot "Xiangbo".
Hudong Zhonghua has been deeply engaged in the LNG field for 27 years, continuously breaking through key technical barriers and core capacity bottlenecks, and has achieved full coverage of products from offshore to ocean, from inland to inland, from small, large to super large, with a total of more than 40 LNG storage and transportation equipment delivered. At the end of April this year, the company and Qatar Energy Group signed 18 contracts for the construction of the world's largest 271,000 cubic meters of very large LNG carriers in Beijing, setting a record for the world's largest single shipbuilding order.
