The first new energy ferry with zero emission and low noise set sail in Shanghai
With zero emissions, low noise and a 360-degree view of the river, the Shanghai Ferry family welcomes new members. Yesterday, China's first new energy ferry "Shanghai Ferries 11" set sail at the Lujiabang Road terminal of the Southern Land Line, which is scheduled to undergo two months of pressure tests and no-load trial voyage before trial operation on the Tangdong Line. Before the end of the year, the downtown regional route will be officially put into operation.
The appearance of the "Shanghai Ferry 11" and the passenger ferry currently in use does not seem to be significantly different, but the cabin is different. In the cabin of the first floor, the two themes of "100 years of ferry events" and "Red mark" are displayed with words, pictures and objects to show the historical evolution of the ferry and the change of the city. Follow the stairs to the second floor, like being in a small cruise ship.
The cabin is equipped with a soft bag seat with a charging port next to it. The top floor is designed as a glass skylight, surrounded by glass curtain walls, making the whole space more bright and transparent. Unlike the past ferries, which only have a viewing platform at the stern, Shanghai Ferries 11 has designed a circular walkway, which has no barrier and allows you to have a panoramic view.
"Shanghai Ferry 11 is China's first new energy battery-powered passenger ferry, with an advanced pure electric power system that can meet 10 hours of electricity demand without producing waste gas, waste water and noise pollution." Shanghai Ferries Co., LTD. Assistant general manager, digital operations center manager Yang Yongchang introduced. The ship has also introduced information system, smart ship system, digital twin system and environmental detection system to achieve real-time monitoring of the ship's status, and comprehensively improve navigation safety, controllability and intelligence.
Shanghai Ferry has a history of one hundred years. In the 1980s and 1990s, the city ferry operation reached its peak, the most various types of operating ships more than 100, the average daily passenger flow of one million people, 1988 passenger volume reached the highest in history of 383 million people, leaving a spectacular scene of millions of citizens across the Pujiang River.
Not only is the passenger transport, because the bridge and tunnel are not perfect at that time, the car ferry route has become the first choice for the transport of goods across the strait, and the waiting fleet can stretch for five or six kilometers at the peak. Subsequently, with the gradual construction of the bridge and tunnel, the last three passenger ferry routes were closed from 2006 to 2007, completing the historical mission.
"Ferries are moving forward step by step. When we were young, we took a steamboat at the Shiliupu dock, burning coal, which could seat two or three hundred people. Later, the capacity of the ferry grew from 500 to 1,400 passengers, this time with a new energy power system, which sits smoothly and does not smell of oil." Cao Qimin, the former chief engineer of Shanghai Airlines Passenger 76, was very excited to be invited to take a test ride.
At present, on the 80-kilometer Huangpu River from Wusongkou in the north to Minhang in the south, Shanghai Ferry has 17 routes and 34 ships in operation. Among them, 22 are the "Shibodu" ferries used during the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, and 6 are the new "Shanghai Ferries" series ferries built in 2017 with the opening of public Spaces along the Huangpu River. The new member, "Shanghai Ferries 11", marks a new stage of green development for Shanghai Ferries.
