The United States has imposed sanctions on two Indian shipping companies linked to Russia

According to Bloomberg News reported on September 6, the US government added two ships and related two Indian shipping companies to the sanctions list. Reported that this is the latest US sanctions to block Russia's export of liquefied natural gas.

On September 5, local time, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury announced that the two liquefied gas vessels "Mulan" and "New Energy" were included in the sanctions list.

According to a statement released by the US Treasury Department, two India-based Shipping companies, Gotik Shipping and Plio Energy Cargo Shipping, will also be sanctioned as related companies.

By the end of August, the United States had added a total of seven other ships to the sanctions list.

The US government said the companies and ships were linked to Russia's Arctic LNG 2 project, against which it had previously announced sanctions.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement, "The United States government will continue to respond promptly to Russian attempts to operate the sanctioned Arctic LNG 2 project or otherwise expand Russia's energy capabilities."
