The world's first! 24,000 TEU class dual fuel container ship out of dock

    According to the official micro-document of "China Shipping", the world's largest 24,000 TEU class liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel power super large container bow ship independently developed and designed by Hudong Zhonghua, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group, has been dockered.

    It is reported that the ship was built by the French CMA CGM Group, with a total length of 399 meters, a width of 61.3 meters, a depth of 33.5 meters, and a design draft of 14.5 meters. It can carry 220,000 tons of cargo, load 23,872 containers at a time, can carry 2,200 standard refrigerated containers, and the maximum number of container layers is 24 layers, equivalent to 22 floors.

    In particular, the ship is equipped with a unique "green heart" - 18,600 cubic meters of MARK III membrane fuel tank. This design enables the ship to provide nearly 20,000 nautical miles of green power on LNG in a single voyage, demonstrating its environmental excellence.

    In terms of environmental emissions, the ship also meets the most stringent standards in the world. Compared with the same type of fuel tank ship, its carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by about 20%, nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced by up to 85%, particulate matter and sulfur oxide emissions are reduced by 99%, greatly reducing environmental pollution.

    In addition, the 24,000 TEU class dual-fuel container ship also set a number of new records during its construction. The installation integrity of the whole cabin has reached 100%, the piping installation submission rate has reached 85%, the engine room cable laying has been completed 95%, the large outfitting of the cargo hold area has been completed 100%, the low temperature system completion rate has exceeded 70%, the double wall pipe welding has been completed 95%, and the low temperature stainless steel pipe and nitrogen stainless steel pipe have been completed 72%.

    These achievements not only set a new historical record for the integrity of the company's very large container vessel out of dock, but also laid a solid foundation for subsequent dock mooring trials, sea trials and early delivery.
