    The "Dalian-Mediterranean" route will cover important ports in Egypt, Turkey and other countries, and the "Dalian-Europe" route will direct to core ports such as Felixstowe in the UK and Bremerhaven in Germany. The two ocean-going routes, which respectively reach Europe and the Mediterranean region, have a total capacity of 32 19,000 TEU vessels, each one per week.

    According to Zhang Hao, deputy general manager of Dalian Container Terminal Co., LTD., the newly opened two routes will fully meet the import and export needs of chemicals, automobiles and parts, mechanical and electrical equipment, mineral resources and other products between the hinterland enterprises and Europe and the Mediterranean region, and the shipping capacity and space are sufficient, which will effectively protect and promote the economic and trade cooperation between the Northeast hinterland and Europe and the Mediterranean region.

    Wang Nan, manager of Jilin Feihu Logistics Group Co., LTD., said that the opening of the two new routes will greatly shorten the voyage time from Northeast China to Europe and the Mediterranean Sea, reduce the risk of transshipment, and reduce the cost of capital occupation and inventory pressure of customers. "In the past, goods exported from the Northeast hinterland to the Mediterranean region needed to be transshipped in other ports, but the new route will shorten the voyage by 8 to 10 days, reducing the cost of logistics and time."

    Up to now, Dalian port has 106 container routes, including 93 foreign trade routes, covering more than 300 ports in 160 countries and regions around the world.
